Mohammed Hussien Basyoni

 Professor

Profile

Prof. Mohammed Basyoni got his Ph. D. degree in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy from University of East Anglia, Great Britain in 1984. His research interest mainly on the carbonate rocks of the Khuff, Hanifa and Jubila formations in central Saudi Arabia. He is also interested in the sabkhas of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Prof. Basyoni supervises many M. Sc. and Ph. D. theses in the Department of Petroleum Geology and Sedimentology, KAU. He refereed several M. Sc. theses from King Saud University, Riyadh.
He is participated in several International and National conferences and meetings, and he has many published papers in International and local journals.
Prof. Basyoni works now as a Professor in King Abduaziz University, Faculty of Earth Sciences, Department of Petroleum Geology and Sedimentology. He is a consultant for the Saudi Geological Survey in Jeddah. He worked also as a consultant at the Municipality of the Holy Makkah. He is also a Scientific Coordinator of the 8th Meeting of the Saudi Society for Geosciences, and he is a representative of Saudi Arabia in the 8thInternational Conference on Geology of The Arab World, Cairo University, Egypt.
